He heeds no counsel shaped by sin,
nor joins the mocker's song;
nor stands where sinful paths begin,
nor walks their path of wrong.
And Joseph fled the tempter's snare,
and left his coat behind;
And Daniel knelt in faithful prayer,
no law could turn his mind.

His heart delights in God's own word,
and there his soul is fed;
he meditates both day and night,
his daily, living bread.

and turned his land aright.
